  72. This package contains ZIP'R Pro (TM) by Stevenson Technical Services,
  73. Inc. (STSI).  This document contains only a brief description of the
  74. package and its features, along with instructions for its installation.
  75. Quite detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in
  76. archived form, and is more easily read after installation.

  78. ZIP'R Pro saves valuable hard drive space by storing programs in
  79. compressed form when they are not being used.  Use ZIP'R Pro to
  80. automatically decompress a program, execute it, and recompress it again.
  81. ZIP'R Pro can use an existing compression program such as PKZIP, ARJ, or
  82. LHA, or it can use internal compression routines that are compatible
  83. with PKZIP 2.0!  Easily integrate ZIP'R Pro into your favorite menu
  84. system, or use ZIP'R Pro's button menu to point and click on the program
  85. you want to run.  Store the program's compressed file on any drive and
  86. directory, including floppies!  Works with networks & multitaskers.

  114. ===== Installation =====================================
  115.  
  116. The installation procedure for ZIP'R Pro is quite simple.  The package
  117. includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire process.
  118. You will need about 1 megabyte of available disk space on the hard drive
  119. on which you plan to install ZIP'R Pro.
  120.  
  121. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received ZIP'R
  122. Pro.
  123.  
  124.  
  125. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  126.  
  127. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  128.  
  129. 1. Place ZIP'R Pro distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the appropriate
  130.    diskette drive.
  131.  
  132. 2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  133.    For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  134.    the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  135.  
  136. 3. Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. You
  137.    will have a chance to approve installation before any changes are
  138.    actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The program will
  139.    ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the ZIP'R Pro
  140.    files to that directory.  If you received ZIP'R Pro on two
  141.    diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette drive
  142.    when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the installation
  143.    program will install executable programs and documentation in
  144.    other directories of your choice.

  147. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  148.  
  149. If you downloaded ZIP'R Pro from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  150. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  151. following steps.
  152.  
  153. 1. Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  154.    directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this varies,
  155.    depending on the form in which you received the package. In all
  156.    likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means that you
  157.    already have the necessary tools and knowledge to perform this step.
  158.    If not, you should be able to obtain directions for this from the
  159.    same source from which you received the package.
  160.  
  161. 2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  162.    example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted the
  163.    files is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS command,
  164.    "c:\tempdir\install".
